Vandalia’s greatest strength has always been in its people as expressed through the hard work they do to support one another and to continually improve this place we all call home. In this issue, we feature a story of just that sort of support, in the efforts of The CREW.

From the Superintendent

But you’ll also read about the important work of Vandalia Schools’ counselors, a young woman training to serve her country in uniform, a second-grader who dreams of becoming a doctor or nurse, a programmatic leader helping young people to land meaningful opportunity after high school, and others who are doing their part to make our school community—and beyond—better than they found it.

It is such a privilege to be part of this community and to play even a small part in the outcomes of Vandalia students. As I walk the hallways of our elementary, junior high, and high school, it is impossible to ignore the depth of commitment each of our faculty and staff members is making toward the outcomes of our kids. And, just as surely as day follows night, these kids are matching that commitment with their own as they work toward making the most of their own potential.

As we continue to write the Vandalia ONE story, day-by-day, I hope you’re enjoying the glimpse inside our buildings we’re bringing you each quarter with the Magazine, Podcasts, and other updates. Because, in a very real sense, whether you have kids in school here or not, these are your schools. Stay tuned as we move forward, but don’t hesitate to share your feedback with me on how we’re doing. We’re always better together, and your voice is as important as any.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jennifer Garrison
